Only you can walk your path.
I’m Jeremiah McCloud and I’ve walked a unique path.
In 2001, I enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps. Because I excelled in my specialty and as a leader of Marines, I was promoted ahead of my peers and eventually nominated by the Secretary of the Navy to attend the U.S. Naval Academy. I graduated from the Naval Academy with the Class of 2009 and was commissioned as an Officer of Marines. After my initial officer training, I was assigned to a battalion at Camp Lejeune, NC. I held several roles there before joining a small team of advisors and deploying to Afghanistan. After an eight-month combat deployment, I returned to Camp Lejeune to be the Signals Intelligence and Electronic Warfare subject matter expert for the 2d Marine Division. I left active duty in 2014.
After my active-duty time had ended, I earned my MBA from the Darden School of Business (University of Virginia). I worked in multiple roles, across functions, and in a few different industries. None of it felt like home.
The weight of family upheaval, loss of close friends, career chaos with extended periods of unemployment, housing uncertainty, and persistent health challenges brought me to my breaking point - again and again.
I felt crushed. I hated myself. I was suicidal. I wanted out.
Then I found my path forward.
The universe had conspired to bring me to a place of utter desperation so that I could begin to recognize and appreciate the sacred. I embarked on a path of healing, guided by others who had already walked the path, supported by non-profits who offered exponentially better care than the Veterans Administration, and reinvigorated by a growing sense of awe at what this life is all about.
At the heart of it all is Love and Service to Others.
I’ve come to see that all my traumas, my failures, and my own path of suffering have been gifts in disguise. These experiences inform my approach to training and coaching. Rather than shrugging off the unpleasant parts, I hold them dear – because what I’ve learned on my path is what I’m able to offer to you.
